“If you can’t fly then run, if you can’t run then walk, if you can’t walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward.”

“The ultimate tragedy is not the oppression and cruelty by the bad people but the silence over that by the good people.”

“We must learn to live together as brothers or perish together as fools.”

“Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.”

“The time is always right to do what is right.”

“Nothing in the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity.”

“Hatred paralyses life; love releases it. Hatred confuses life; love harmonizes it. Hatred darkens life; love illuminates it.”

“Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.”

“The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.”

“I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.”

Thank you Mr. King for your efforts for equality to all.

Top 10 Running Backs of All Time

When attempting to create a Top 10 Running Back list its hard to compare players that played in different eras of the game. For example the defenses  Adrian Peterson has to run against is extremely different than those of a Jim Brown. Some criteria I used to create this list were total rushing yards, records held, dominance during time played, and popularity. Let kick off this list.

Some of Dorsett's accolades include Super Bowl Champion (XII) and 1977 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year. He is the first of only two players in history who has won the Heisman Trophy, won the Super Bowl, and won the College National Championship. Dorsett is known for his record holding 99 yard rushing TD during a Monday Night Football game in Minnesota.

6. Earl Campbell: Often called The Tyler Rose, Mr. Campbell is a Heisman Trophy winner out Texas University. Earl Campbell had the rare ability to run over defenders as well as run past them. Earl Campbell played for 9 season, most in the Houston Oilers and later the New Orleans Saints. Some of Mr. Campbell's accolades include 3x NFL MVP, 3x Offensive Player of the Year, and 3x NFL Rushing champion (1978, 1979, 1980). Campbell is widely acknowledged as one of the best power backs in NFL history.

and NFL record most 1,500-yard seasons. Even with his short career he was able to rush for over 15,000 yards.

1. Emmit Smith: An All-American from the University of Florida. Not the fastest or biggest running back but he has the heart of a champion and it reflect on his outstanding NFL career.Mr. Smith played 15 season most with the Dallas Cowboys and later the Arizona Cardinals. Smith is the only running back to ever win a Super Bowl championship, the NFL Most Valuable Player award, the NFL rushing crown, and the Super Bowl Most Valuable Player award all in the same season. Emmit Smith and Jerry Rice are the only two non-kickers to score over 1000 points in a career. He also holds the following records NFL record: career rushing yards (18,355), NFL record: career rushing touchdowns (164), and NFL record: career 100-yard rushing games (78).

Thanks for checking out my Top 10. I know that true NFL fans would wonder where Jim Brown is on this list. Jim Brown was a great Running Back but I feel if you place anyone on this list during his era they would accumulate similar if not surpass his stats. Another player would be Franco Harris also a great Running Back with over 12,000 career rushing yards and 4x Superbowl champ. Harris is great just not in my Top 10. There are several other honorable mentions that did not reach my Top 10 like Terrell Davis,Gale Sayers, and Adrian Peterson.

Top 10 Comedy Movies since 2000

Let's look at some of the funniest movies ever created. I have decided to only go back to the year 2000 so that means movies like Caddyshack, Dumb and Dumber, and Airplane will not be apart of this list, but are legendary comedies. Some of the criteria I used to create my Top 10 were Popularity, Box office numbers, and how much the movie made me laugh.

10. Bad Santa (2003)- Starring Billy Bob Thornton in which he plays a Mall Santa that steals from department stores throughout the mall. Things get complicated when Santa befriends a young boy and the Mall security catch on to his scheme. Tons of laughs but definitely for a adult audience.

9.Tropic Thunder (2008)- A star studded cast including Ben Stiller, Jack Black, and Robert Downey Jr. Tropic Thunder plot consist of actors filming a war movie that in reality find themselves in true danger similar  to the script. The most exciting character played by Robert Downey Jr. named Kirk Lazarus who is a Australian actor that portrays a African-American solider. Laughter from beginning to end.

8. Step Brothers (2008)- Starring Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly. The story focuses on two middle-aged men still living with their recently wed parents making them step-brother. Both play hilarious practical jokes on one another then ultimately become friends and launch a business Prestige Worldwide.

7. Jackass: The Movie Franchise (Starting in 2002)- Instead of ranking each movie I rolled into a franchise. Starting off as a show on MTV, its a group of "try anything" individuals led by Johnny Knoxville. The movie consist of practical jokes and gross humor. I love each movie and most of the cast have went to host their own TV shows like Steve-O and  Bam Margera.

6. Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby (2006)- Starring Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly. This is another Ferrell and Reilly combination of laughs. The story focus on the reckless NASCAR driver Ricky Bobby he lives life by only one motto "If your not first your last". This motto begins to change once a new driver come on the scene played by Sacha Baron Cohen. I recite lines from this movie on a daily basis and love the characters within the film.

5. Super Troopers (2001)-Probably Broken Lizards(comedy troupe) best film created. In consist of Vermont state troopers that are on the verge of their unit being shut down and ina attempt to survive the troopers try to solve a drug crime before local police to keep their unit alive. Non-stop comedy and I could watch this movie everyday.

4. Superbad (2007)- Starring  Michael Cera and Jonah Hill as two dorky high school seniors. As their time together is coming to a end(Going off to college) they try to do things they never have done before. This consist of getting hit by a car, talking to girls, singing for random men at a house party, and joy riding with cops. A laugh out loud comedy and one of the best comedies since 2000.

3. How High (2001)-Some may think "How in the world How High is at number 3?" but remember this list is based off my opinion and I love this movie. Starring Method Man and Redman as two pot heads that smoke some magical weed that gives them Genius like abilities. This lands them at Harvard and begin to turn the campus upside down.

2. Old School (2003)- Starring  Luke Wilson, Vince Vaughn, and Will Ferrell as three friends who begin a fraternity but do actually attend the school. When a rep from the school finds out the frats creation he will stop at nothing to shut them down. Another movie I quotes on a daily basis and a non-stop laughing adventure.Zulily Reporting Services

1. The Hangover (2009)- I'm not a big fan of parts 2 and 3 but the original movie is the best comedy since 2000. The plot consist of a group of guys celebrating a bachelor party and things take a turn for the worst. Waking up to a mountain of chaos that no one can remember. Laugh out loud comedy and tons of memorable quotes.

Top 10 Rapper turned Actor

Many rappers have branched out into different ventures whether it be restaurant ownership, beginning their on clothing line, or even more common acting. Yes, the avenue from rapping to acting has been traveled by many but there are only several who have made this transition and excelled. Only a handful have been nominated for an Academy Award.  Some of the criteria  I used to create this list was successful rap career, number of movies played in, nomination and awards received, and popularity. Now lets kick off this list.

10. T.I.- Born Clifford Joseph Harris Jr. from Atlanta, Georgia has made the transition from the Rap World with the stage name T.I. and has released eight studio albums. In 2009, T.I. was given the Top R&B/Hip Hop Male Artist of the Decade at The Billboard Music Awards. He also has won 3 Grammy Awards. As for his acting career T.I. has jumped to acting with a great debut in the movie titled ATL (2006) and followed that with a outstanding performance in the movie titled Takers (2010). He also made a cameo in American Gangster (2007) as Stevie Lucas along side acting great  Denzel Washington. His acting career is still quite young but I feel there are more great performances in his future on the Big Screen.

                                         ATL Trailer

9. Mos Def- Born Dante Terrell Smith from Brooklyn, New York. One part of the duo Black Star with Talib Kweli. Some hits include "Respiration" and "Definition", which would go on to be featured in VH1's 100 Greatest Songs of Hip-Hop.  The Source ranked him #23 on their list of the Top 50 Lyricists of All Time. As for acting his start began at the age of 14 with roles in several TV shows which includes  "The Cosby Mysteries". As an adult Mos Def has played roles in 16 Blocks, Cadillac Records in which he portrayed Chuck Berry, and Something the Lord Made. Mos Def has been nominated for a Black Reel Award, Emmy Award, Golden Globe, and won a Image Award for his role in "Something the Lord Made". Mos Def has become a dual threat in both music and movies and will continue to be for years to come.

8. Ludacris-Born Christopher Brian Bridges in Champaign, Illinois, but has resided in Atlanta, Georgia since early childhood. The one they call Ludacris hit the music world by storm. He has released six studio albums, his first five albums have all achieved multi-platinum status, and his sixth album achieved Platinum certification. He is a three-time Grammy Award-winning, he is also a winner of several BET and MTV awards. As for his acting career Chris "Ludacris" Bridges began with a mostly cameos, one of his more popular cameo was in the movie "The Wash" staring Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre. After that he was added on to the "Fast and Furious" franchise as Tej. Ludacris has been the last three "Fast and Furious" productions and another has been announced to be released later this year. The role I feel that lands him in the number 8 spot would be his role as Anthony in the award winning movie "Crash". In 2005 the cast of "Crash" received a  Screen Actors Guild Awards for Outstanding Cast in a Motion Picture. In both music and movies Ludacris has made a tremendous impact in a short period of time.

7. Ice-T-Born Tracy Marrow in Newark, New Jersey, but move to Los Angles as a adolescent. Best known for his song "Cop Killer", which stirred up tons of controversy gaining national attention and utlimately got him released from his contract with Warner Bros. Records.  Ice-T has one Grammy to his name and several nominations from various award shows. Its ironic the man known for the song "Cop Killer" played a cop in one of his early roles as Scotty Appleton in the movie "New Jack City ". Fast forward to present day he has a reoccurring role in the hit TV show "Law and Order SVU", in 2002 he won a Image Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for his role. He also starred as himself in the reality TV Show "Ice Loves Coco".

6.  2Pac-Born Tupac Amaru Shakur in New York City, but moved to Oakland, California as a teenager. 2pac by far has sold more album than anyone on this list with a estimated 75 million records sold to date. That is top tier numbers of any artist of any genre. Rolling Stone named him the 86th Greatest Artist of All Time. Even with all these accolades he never won a Grammy Award during his career. Even though his movie career was short lived he brought several roles to life as only he could in movies like "Juice" and "Poetic Justice". 2pac was nominated for a NAACP Image award for his role in "Poetic Justice". A man that was taken away from us too soon but he will forever live through the music he made and the movies he brought his special touch to.

5. Queen Latifah- Born Dana Elaine Owens in East Orange, New Jersey. Known as the first lady of Hip Hop. She came on the scene in the late 80's and at that time female artist lacked the exposure as their male counterparts. Even with the obvious double standard in the Hip Hop world the Queen was able to spread a message to the masses. In her efforts she received several Grammy nominations and has won awards from various award shows. As for acting Queen Latifah  had a starring role on the TV show Living Single which aired from 1993-1998. Her claim to fame in her acting career came with her role as Matron "Mama" Morton in "Chicago". For her role she received the Oscar nomination Best Supporting Actress, this put her in rare company of rappers turned actor as only 1 other rapper (Will Smith) can make this same claim. The list of movies she has starred in include The Perfect Holiday, Beauty Shop ,and Set It Off. Queen Latifah has mastered her craft in both movies and music and her career shows that women can do everything a man can and in some cases even better.

One of the original members of the Rap Super Group N.W.A and also arguably the top lyricist of all time. He was ranked #8 on MTV's list of the 10 Greatest MCs of All Time. His songs have brought much controversy and mainstream attention outside the Hip Hop community and it shows with his lack of music awards. His accolades in his rapper career can not be measured by awards but his impact and longevity shows that lyrics can outweigh any trend. Acting is only one aspect on Ice Cube's lustrous career. He has directed, written, and executive produced numerous films. Some that stand-out are "Boyz n the Hood ", "Higher Learning" , and Friday Franchise. Ice Cube has become one of the best to make the transition from Rap to Movies and his track record reflects that.

Scene from Boyz n the Hood

2.   Mark Wahlberg- Born Mark Robert Michael Wahlberg in Boston, Massachusetts. As for Mark and his "Rap" career he did have one in the early 90's. You could argue the group was a one-hit wonder but the #1 hit "Good Vibrations" can still be heard at clubs around the nation. Whether you use the term Teen Idol or Rapper you cannot deny his transition to the big screen. Mark was been in many memorable movies such as The Departed, Boogie Nights, and The Italian Job.
